About Us

Zach Smith Consulting & Design was founded in 2021 to be the most accessible and effective resource for land use, development, and government & community relations services in Southeast Louisiana. We serve homeowners, entrepreneurs, businesses of all types, developers, local government, and nonprofits.

Our founder, Zach Smith, brings over 15 years of experience and leadership in building code enforcement, inspections and permitting. Zach is a licensed architect and is certified by both the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM) and the International Code Council (ICC) as a Building Code Official. Throughout his time in government Zach developed a laser focus on cutting through confusion and helping people navigate complex processes related to land use, development, and government relations. Zach is passionate about service and the sustainable growth of the Greater New Orleans Area.

In just over two-years he has assembled a team that can meet almost every imaginable need related to building and creating a stronger and more sustainable Southeast Louisiana. We are architects, grant-writers, permit navigators, STR and Historic Tax Credit & Restoration Abatement program specialists and community and government relations experts- we’ve got you covered. He has assembled a highly skilled and diverse team who share one important trait. We are passionate about making our services accessible and efficient. We want to serve everyone from the family building their first home to the developer creating affordable housing, from the entrepreneur with a vision to the public entity trying to foster good relationships with the community. Our team continues to grow to be able to serve you.
